But it is time we set aside the entertainment issue and get on with the task to which we are called - to present the Good News with as much energy and creativity as possible." - quote from Steve Pederson, author of Drama Ministry The Creative Arts Team at Harvest Point has a very strong drama group, the "Harvest Point Players". We have produced over 65 short plays for Sunday worship over the last 4 years. We have also presented 2 full length plays. Many of our dramas have been original works by one or two of our team members. We meet regularly (usually once a month) to read over scripts and pactice with a drama coach. When you let us know that you are interested in becoming a part of our team we will immediately add you to our list of actors and will cast you as soon as an appropriate role is available. However, we do give priority in casting to those that come to monthly drama team meetings. We believe: God is the ultimate creative Genius and He should be glorified in diverse ways. People have a need and a desire to use their artistic talents for God. Creative Arts illustrate teaching and help people to learn and remember the great truths of the Bible. Creative Arts can stir emotions and "tenderize" hearts to the Gospel. Specal performances are a wonderful way to reach out to our community with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Our team members are asked to serve on a rotating basis (many are active in leadership, music, hospitality, and other teams). Each performane requires about 3 one-hour practices. We are exicited about developing many different teams within the area of creative arts.
